The Tor rises 518 feet above sea level and is visible for miles in the countryside.In prehistoric times it was surrounded by marshy water giving it the apperance of an island.It is a major sacred site.
There are many myths and legends associated with Glastonbury Tor. Centurys of legends have gathered aroud the Tor.
     The slopes on the Tor are the remains of a great three-dimensional labyrinth. It wuld probably take 4-6 hours to walk in and out of the labyrinth.
The tor is now owned by the national trust and is visited by thousands of people every year.
The Tor was an island for ages because the floodwaters took along time to go away.
