OVERTIME Wins 1

Well, the votes were tallied and the final winners announced at the CFRC-FM radio awards 2001. In all Overtime faired well as Dan Vertlieb wins CFRC's most dedicated rookie volunteer beating out co-host Sean Diamond and many other deserving volunteers. Dan was not able to be reached for comment but we at OVERTIME are sure that he was estatic about the award. The other category OVERTIME was nominated for, best spoken word radio show was won by "Discourse That" hosted by Greg Hughes. "There was just too much competition amongst the sporting shows, in addition Greg has a great show and deserves it." All is not lost, being nominated for the award is a great honour and winning two years in a row with the excellent quality of spoken word shows on CFRC is nearly impossible. "There is always next year" says Overtime Guru Eric Sherkin. Stay tuned for one of OVERTIME'S last broadcasts until September 2001 this Wednesday night. Sean Diamond
