Chip
This little guy was about 7 months old when he came to us in December. He came from Alabama and moved around a bit before he ended up here.  He is all puppy and is trying to figure out what is happening to him right now.  Believe it or not he and Bubba have taken to each other and they look like Mutt and Jeff playing.  He is available for adoption through Pointer Rescue.  If you are interested in him, you can contact them.  Chip is what we believe a pointer/lab mix. He was first ID'd as a pointer but that changed once he got here. Chip is very freindly and loves to play with the other dogs. He is intelligent and quickly learned commands such as sit, come and shake hands. He does very well on a leash. He has done well in the house and oustside. In fact he wanted to take up in the bed, but Dani Jo didn't take to that very well! He is nuetered, up to date on his shots and is on heartworm preventative. Chip is anxiously waiting for his forever home! You could be it!

Zoe

Zoe came to us from Florida.  She was a sweet well-mannered 1 1/2 year old who enjoyed playing chase with Dani Jo and sleeping on your lap.  She didn't stay long.  Pointer Rescue found a home for her in Indiana to a nice guy who wanted her the moment he saw her picture.  Her transport up to Indiana proved to be interesting for Zoe.  One of the dedicated volunteer driver's truck broke down in route and Zoe got to spend some time at a Goodyear Tire store while the truck was being repaired.  The driver said she a so sweet at the store and tugged at a few hearts there as well.

Lucille  Ball-barker!

Lucille was found wandering as a stray and was taken in by a kind woman who took care of her and tried to find her owner or a home.  When she was unable to find either she brought her to Smith Animal Hospital who contacted Jackie's family knowing that they were volunteers with Pointer Rescue.
Although she is shy with strangers at first, she warms up  with gentle encouragement and wants to be loved.  She does well with other dogs and likes to play with her toys in the backyard.  In fact, we call her Lucille Ball-barker because she will push her ball around the yard and bark at it!  We can call her Lucky Lucy now!  She found a home in New York with a wonderful family that includes another PRO rescue dog, Shelby.

Amazing Grace!

Grace, our first foster dog, is truly an amazing dog.  She was rescued from a shelter in Alabama by the West Alabama Animal Rescue who recognized her potential and turned her over to Pointer Rescue.  That's how she came to live with Jackie Lynn and her family.  She had come a long way since she was picked up as a stray.  She was in pretty poor health when WAAR got her and when she got here she was still needing heartworm treatment and was rather thin, but she recovered nicely.  She always greeted you with a kiss and a happy tail.
Grace's story has  a happy ending.  After seeing her picture on the Pointer Rescue website a wonderful lady adopted her.  Grace is now living happily with her new mom and two brothers (another pointer and a German Shorthair Pointer).  We were happy to be a part of this happy tail-wagging ending for our Amazing Grace!
