My name is Shelly and I am a 6 yr. old fawn
Pekingese with a beautiful black mask.
My mom and dad adopted me on March 16, 2003 while
they were doing rescue with a Shih Tzu rescue group.
I had been fostering with
mom and dad since May 2002.

My mom and dad fell in love with me the very first
day. My mom says she always adores the most needy
babies and that I really needed her. But more importantly,
mom needed ME! Mom had fostered another special baby
who also came from a North Carolina abuse case and his
name was Madison. Madison lived with mom for 6 mths.
and was adopted by the most fantastic family ever,
but poor little Madison's body had been so severely
abused and neglected that he went to Rainbow Bridge
in April 2002, the day after I was rescued by the
Pamlico Animal Control Officers. They were the
very same officers who saved Madison from his previous life.
My mom was very heartbroken and felt like her heart
had been ripped apart. None of her own babies or
foster babies could console her grief. But one week
after Madison's death, mom got a call that we had
been rescued and needed a foster home. Mom knew
immediately that her Madison had sent us to help
heal her heart. She started calling us "Madison's Angels".
Mom still cries when she thinks about Madison or says
his name. She says he was her "heart baby" and that
he is waiting for her at Rainbow Bridge.
So as you can see, my mom needed me and I needed her so
we think it was meant to be that she adopt me.
I love to play and romp and enjoy living with
my brothers and sisters. I take glucosamine, chondroitin,
MSM for my hips and knees. My mom also gives me DMG daily.
I can race across the yard just about as fast as
my brothers. I love treats and constantly remind Mom
that I need them to keep me healthy. teehee. Mom can not
believe that I am the same shy and scared little
peke girl that she met over 2 yrs. ago.
My brothers and sister are are
Baxter the Shih Tzu,Paxton the Shih Tzu and Jackson the Shih Tzu..
There is a prissy pom, Reno
who lives with us, but he loves to stay at Grandmommy's house
alot too. I also have a sister, Amy who is a long haired blue Chihuahua that Mom and Dad fostered
until they adopted her. Mom adopted Avery, Blake and Court in Nov. 2003 and Peaches in Sept. 2004. Their webpages are linked below.
