Post-It Notes for ...
Happy Birthday, ...
August Babies!
1st, Saturday
I seem to be living in my own little world, creating distorted beliefs about the world and confirming them with my selected attention!  Winnie, I am glad "it" just sort of popped up today, so that you corrected me.  The more I think of it, the more funny it is, right now.  What the intro Psychology textbook says about "confirmation bias" suddenly comes clear to my understanding Oh, it's so powerful yet silly!  Winnie, it will definitely take you sometime to get me brainwashed about "this"!
2nd, Sunday

Went to 7pm Service at Knox Presbyterian Church right across from New College.  The Male Choir of the Hungarian Reformed Church sang some classic hymns such as "Were you there", "Great is Thy Faithfulness" so beautifully.  I have often found men's singing voices to be very captivating.  Yet in this evening, zealous are the strong and manly voices of these young men, blendng in so well with one another.  Pure are their hearts; these young men are seminary students waiting to be ministers in the country of Hungary.  I heard that Romania is a very poor country; for them to travel across North America and give a musical tour must take a humongous cost.
Once again, I marvel at a God who accepts praises offered in different melodies and languages and at different costs.  I will ponder in this as endlessly as the exclamation in this song holds, "Amazing love, How can it be ..."
3rd, Monday
Precious and sweet is a friend who spends time on the phone and tells me a story. She has a gentle voice and a warm heart, and told me a story from The Little Prince this morning after waking up from a night of sleep.
Yes, stories... these days, I just like to stay in my room, be quiet and read some stories.
4th, Tuesday
Nowadays, I want to listen more than to speak, read more than to write and watch more than to perform.  For a long time I have told the same jokes over and over again to many different people.  Kind enough, they mostly laughed since it's my first time telling them.  But truly inside me, I see that I have nothing more to give.  I have stopped "there" for a very long time.  Now, it comes a perfect time when I just want to be quiet, observe and listen closely to the happenings in this world, voices of people around me, His whispers and His heartbeat.
5th, Wednesday
Meeting for CCF Orientation Dinner Planning. Time to observe and listen..
6th, Thursday
With a backpack on each of our backs under the gentle blue sky out from New College Rez to Hot Dog Booth to Sid Smith to U of T Bookstore to Discount Bookstore back to U of T Bookstore through the Med Sci Building then across Queen's Park Crescent to Bay and Gosvenor, and finally at 889 Bay Street ... Nicole and I went buying our textbooks and picking up campus flyers.  By then my ankles were sore and stiffened after all the walking.  Then at her very neatly furnished flat shared with Ruth, Nicole made hot chocolate for me to dip tea biscuits in.  "Simple pleasure," I said with a tone of satisfaction.  "Yes," Nicole agreed with a cheerful smile on her face.  Exhilarated by the bits and pieces of renovations done in this huge campus, she's been cheerful all day today.  What a cool girl!
