Joseph's Brief Biography
Joseph, the son of Jacob was a young and self-centered young man. The favourite of Jacobs sons, he didnt hide this important fact from his brothers. As a result, jealousy grew among his brothers for the special treatment he received. Eventually, the jealousy overwhelms the brothers and they decide to kill him as he comes upon them. Only the intervention of Reuben saves his life and eventually they decide to sell as a slave in Egypt. In Egypt he meets with success and ascends to become the chief servant of Potiphars house. Potiphars wife accuses Joseph of attempting to sleep with her after her numerous attempts at getting him to sleep with her fail. Hes thrown into jail. In jail, he successfully interprets pharaohs dreams as seven years of abundance followed by seven years of famine. Hes then put in charge of preparing Egypt for these seven years of famine
