My Speyer Page
Have a look at some photos of my hometown Speyer in the southwest of Germany:
View down the highstreet with the old towngate in the background
The cathedral from the front...
The crypt in the cathedral, with a few dead emperors, their wives and assorted relatives, all dating back to the middle ages.
...and the cathedral from behind.
And last but not least, the cathedral from the side!
Speyer Cathedral

Founded by Conrad II in 1030 and remodelled at the end of the 11th century, the Speyer Cathedral, a basilica with four towers and two domes, is one of the main Romanesque monuments of the Holy Roman Empire. Its architectural structure strikes a perfect balance between eastern and western influences.

The cathedral was added to the World Heritage list of
Unesco in 1981 (which is where I got this text from, go and have a look.....).
