Scuba diving, Red Sea,
March 2001
Only a one-week-long holiday, but after being in Egypt for 10 months already, it was about time.....
Rolling, rolling, rolling through the Sinai on the way to Dahab.
Pretty impressive scenery on the way! Spot Charlton Heston and win a million dollars!
Yeah, we're there!
Finally!
Excellent!!!! My second day under water and we saw a MANTARAY!!!!!!!
Plenty of big fish to see. That fellow here is a Napoleon Wrasse.
It was massive, at least 3m across! It was so cool!
And to top it all, the day after we saw a turtle, really close and we swam with it for a couple of metres!
The last dive on the last day into the infamous blue hole.....
What can I say, it was great! And Dahab is really nice, too. Not as crowded as Sharm El Sheik, cheaper and more laid back.

Anyway, on our way back we drove along the Suez Canal, which is quite an interessting sight as well....
I went on dives with these guys: Sphinx Divers

But fear not, Dahab is packed with dive centres and camps to stay in, if you try to avoid national German holidays, you should be ok.... Did I mention there are a lot of German tourists?

Try this, it's a site for diving centres in Egypt:
