ASTEROID
A Different View Y100 Philadlephia

I used to be an Eagle 106 listener. Everyone remembers Eagle 106 and the day that they changed to soft jazz. When they did that I found myself with no radio station. It took a few weeks but one day one of my friens, Rob, told me about this new station on 100.3 FM. I tuned it in and was immediatly impressed. It was the station that I had been missing for weeks.

Then it was known as Z100 but it was quickly changed to Y100. That was in 1993. It has been 4 years and I am still a listener. It is by far the best station in Philadelphia, PA. This station is also one of the strongest I have yet seen. Let me give you an example. I am a NASCAR fan and one of the tracks that is close to me is Pocono Raceway up north of Alentown. It is at an elvation of about 2500 ft above sea level. I was at least 250 miles outside of Philly and Y100 came in. I am not saying that it was exactly clear. But it was there.

Recently there is a new station out there. 95.7 FM used to be Philadelphia's classical station and has been for almost 25 years. But it has changed over to a cpy station, a copy of Y100. Now they are the MAX. But they are nothing but a copy. There is no substitute for the real thing.

And that is Why I listen to Y.
