CANCEL BOWL

The Greatest Irregularly Held Guerilla Trash Tournament in Eastern Massachusetts

Back in 2000, several (well, at least two) summer trash tournaments were announced but eventually cancelled. Somewhat irritated by this, I announced the first ever Cancel Bowl, to be held at Boston University, where I was working at the time.

Since then, Cancel Bowl has been run once or twice a year (depending on interest and question availability) either at BU or at Babson College, where I also used to work. Its small size has made it a cozy, informal affair where, hopefully, a good time is had by all.

Given that I was running these things with little to no dedicated staffing, Cancel Bowl has always been a guerilla event, meaning that there is no central editing and that teams provide staffing as needed. More often than not we’ve used packs from another event (thanks again Iowa, UTC, and Georgia!), and on at least one occasion I wrote several packs, many thematic in nature (with continued apologies).

Not sure what else to say about this, other than if you see that there’s a Cancel Bowl going on, feel free to drop by.

RESULTS

I don’t have all of them, but I’ll put in placeholders for links like I may actually come up with them someday. Don’t hold your breath, though.
