FIRST CONTACT

~ a drabble ~

~*~

The sadness in her eyes tugged at his heart, his only desire was to take it away. He offered a friendly ear but she turned away from him to hide her tears. He told her he would be there, waiting, when she was ready, but she said she didn't need to talk. He asked what she needed and promised to get it for her, if it was within his power. Slowly she turned to face him, no longer ashamed of the tears. What she needed was within his power and he gave it freely. What she needed was first contact.
