Welcome to LB!! In case you hadn't already figured it out, this is mostly a horse site. Specifically about combined training, but there's a ton of info on other horse stuff, too!! If you find anything that is incorrect or missing important info(or broken images or links), PLEASE tell me!!

And of course I will always be updating and building new pages, but if there's anything you need to know about horses, feel free to email me!! I will most likely know, and if I don't, I can find out!!

This site looks best if you have the font Comic Sans MS and Netscape 4.0 or higher!

Recognize any of the horses in the graphics??

On the banner, from left-right: unknown horse, Custom Made(David O'Connor), Snowy River(Phyllis Dawson), Half Magic(Phyllis Dawson)
CT Rules button: Snowy River(Phyllis Dawson)
Salute to the Judge button: Half Magic(Phyllis Dawson)
Links button: Wild Willy
If the horse on a graphic is not listed above, I do not know what horse it is.

Not an eventing person??

The Lexington Bank is one of the most famous cross country jumps in CT (combined training). It is in the Kentucky Horse Park, and they jump it at Rolex, which is now a CCI**** event!!! The ONLY one in America!
Combined training is made up of 3 phases, dressage, endurance, and jumping.
Dressage is all on the flat, and is judged on precision, accuracy, consistency, etc.
Endurance is the second day of 3-days, and it has road and tracks(just trotting) to warm up, like over several miles!! Then a steeplechase. Then more miles of road and tracks, and THEN a LONG course of cross country jumps.
Jumping is to prove that after the endurance phase your horse can still go, and very few horses actually make it to the jumping phase. In jumping you have to jump a course in a ring.
Eventing is the best horse sport you can do (I'm biased, of course...oh well) and if you ride and you ever get a chance you should try it. But it's dangerous so don't forget your crash vest!!
