The Spirit of the Laws
Montesquieu is the true, and largely forgotten, father of modern political science. His thesis on how a modern republic can revert back into despotism is very applicable today. Many parts of our constitution are based on Montesquieu's book. If you would like to expose the lies of big government, understanding begins here.
