After  the lead in such bad movies, it was refreshing to see Stanwyck in a small but pivotal role in a good movie.
"Executive Suite" is the story of the battle for the presidency of a big  furniture company after the sudden death of the incumbent. Stanwyck plays the dead man's bitter mistress and important stockholder  whose vote is for the next president is crucial
A shapeless, dull and low budget  affair, made in 3D, is only bearable when Stanwyck and MacMurray are in it.
Exactly why the protagonists of "Double indemnity" did elect to participate in this cow-town petty larceny is still a mystery
The film is labeled cheap from the very beginning and soon lapses into corny sensation in a story about men fighting bandits in the Mexican oil fields, with Stanwyck climbing all over Cooper in a dime-novel version of gran passion.   She hates everything and everybody in the film (and probably hated the moment she had accepted to substitute Lauren Bacall in the role) It is again the case of two great performers stuck in a bad film.
