The Black Galaxy Galaxy in which the
creature known as Ego devoured all of the stars. Eventually, the Celestials
came to the Black Galaxy, and transformed it into a new Celestial, using
Hercules, and Thor's human companion Eric Masterson as a sort of template.

Black Knight There have been several Black
Knights since the Middle Ages, the first of which was Sir Percy of Scandia, who
served King Arthur in Camelot. The invincible Ebony Blade he bore was later held
by Sir Raston of the Anachronauts, and Eobar Garrington in the Crusades. In
modern times, the criminal descendent Nathan Garrett was unable to draw the
sword, but his nephew Dane Whitman did. Dane Whitman is a member of the
Avengers, and was the Gann Josin of Sersi, who hoped that by bonding with him
she could prevent her supposed madness. He joined her in exile for a time, but
they have grown apart since returning to earth. -Avengers#343-375, Black
Knight/Exodus, Heroes For Hire#4-7 Black Legacy Energy wielded primarily by Lord Tantalus,
which kills whatever life it comes in contact with. Only beings who are
genetically pure have proven immune to its effects, although Dr. Caitlin Maddox
avoided it thanks to an injection of Skrull adrenaline. Tantalus' son Lucian,
the hero Blackwulf II, also possesses this power, but needs his Shadowlance to
release it. Tantalus has allowed his Peacekeeper Lady Trident to forge her

"Blackened Wolf" Dish Tantalus served to
the Peacekeepers. It was, in fact, the remains of his own son Pelops, although

Blackwulf Alias assumed by Lord Pelops, son
of Lord
Tantalus and Nirvana, and brother of Lord Lucian. While appearing to be the
tactical leader of Tantalus' forces in the "Holy War" fought by their people, as
Blackwulf, Pelops was a rebel leader, working in loose affiliation with the
United States government. He formed a team of rebels, called "the Underground
Legion" Their number included Sparrow, who was his lover. Knowing that he could
not evade detection by his father's forces forever, Pelops planned to abandon
their kingdom for good, after rescuing his brother. However, he was found and
killed by Tantalus in the process. Tantalus subsequently had Blackwulf's corpse
served for dinner, and sent his head back to Sparrow. The death of Pelops drove
Lucian against Tantalus once and for all, and he took up the Blackwulf alias to
oppose him, and joined the Underground Legion. -Thunderstrike#6,
Blackwulf#1-2
Blackwulf II Lord Lucian, son of Lord Tantalus and
Nirvana. Lucian was born with a black birthmark down the side of his face, which
drove his mother to suicide. Although he always tried to win his father's
approval in the Peacekeepers, Tantalus always held his birthmark against him.
After learning that his brother Pelops was the rebel hero Blackwulf, and seeing
his father kill him, Lucian donned the Blackwulf identity, and joined the
Underground Legion. He was ulimately able to destroy his father using his own
Black Legacy against him, though absorbing his life energy resulted in Lucian's
skin becoming ebon-black. Lucian's chief weapon is his Shadowlance, which allows
him to focus the Black Legacy energy in his birthmark using his rage as fuel.

Blackwulf III Deviant native to the planet
Armechadon who was the leader of that planet's Underground Legion. He joined his
Earthly counterparts in an assault on the forces of Lord Tantalus, but
was slain by the Black Legacy surrounding Nirvana. -Blackwulf#8, 10
Blastaar Alien despot of the Negative Zone,
native to Balurr. When Olympia was temporarily brought to the Negative Zone,
Blastarr attempted to slay the Eternals, but while his energy blasts were
capable of disintigrating them, they later re-built themselves.

by Thanos on
Earth. The Blood Brothers possess superhuman strength which increases as they

Bloodhound Missile Weapons Kro supplied to the
Lizard Men to defeat the Monster Hunters. The missiles open up to reveal a set
of coils that ensnare their target. These coils are capable of ensnaring even an

Ulysses Bloodstone Caveman born 10,000
years ago. A piece of the alien gem called the "Bloodstone" became lodged inside
his chest, making him immortal. Over the centuries, Ulysses fought many
monsters. In modern times, he joined Makkari's Monster
Hunters, suspecting that the mastermind behind recent monster attacks might be
his enemy Ulluxy'l Kwan Tae Syn. He was responsible for slaying the Deviant
Mutate Grottu in Mombasa. Ulysses Bloodstone died several years ago when agents

Blue Blaze A 1940s super-hero, who was
actually Spencer Keen, a college student seemingly killed in 1852 after exposure
to a sample of the "Blue Flame". In 1940, he rose from his grave to battle
crime, dressed in a blue costume, and possessing superhuman strength. -Mystic
Comics#1-4. Comics historian Jess Nevins first proposed that the Blue Flame used
in the Blue Blaze's origin could be connected to the Eternals. Since we saw in
Eternals (v.1)#14 that the Uni-Mind's energies can play havoc when released, it
isn't a far-fetched idea. Blue Flame Energy force that is wielded by
the Prime Eternal. By entering the Blue Flame, the Eternals are re-shaped into
the Uni-Mind. The energies released by the Blue Flame have create a bright
light, and cause machinery failure. Exposure to the Blue Flame also brought a

Brain-Mines Deviant devices which render
victims comatose. Later versions allowed the Deviants some mental control over
their victims. The usual form is a small circuit-chip item that is fired from a
gun or hidden in the palm of a hand. A larger version looks more like a lobster,
and rests upon the top of the victim's head. Kro used a small
Brain-Mine to subtly influence Thena into falling in
love with him. A more useful device, based on the Brain-Mines, is the Gracelet.

The Brethren A race of people created by the Celestials
from bacteria to serve as defence against the Eternals and Deviants, should they
ever turn against them. After Arishem exiled them from his service, they were
acquired by the Collector, who placed them into his collection. In recent times,
after being accidentally freed, they attempted to enslave earth, but the
Collector transformed them into bacteria to ravage the world. However, Sersi was
somehow able to form a Uni-Mind with their leader, Thane Ector, and transform
the Brethren into a Uni-Mind to defeat the Collector. Thane Ector then passed

Brightsword Carter Dyam, a former Israeli
soldier contacted by Heimdall to join the Young Gods during the 4th Host. His
powers were released by Ego-Prime, granting him superhuman strength and ability
to create his own weaponry. After being given to the Celestials by
Gaea, Brightsword came to live aboard the Celestial Mothership with the other
Young Gods, and is a pupil of Juniper. Harvest has a crush on him. -Thor#203,

Peacekeepers. Bristle has the power to fire quills from his wrists.

Dr. Oliver Broadhurst Human scientist
working for the Underground Legion. Dr. Broadhurst's right hand has been
replaced with a cybernetic hand. Broadhurst's activities for the United States
government have included the X-50 program, where he oversaw the production of 50
robotic life-forms, all of which were faulty, and went insane. One of his
scientists, Dr. Able Stack, was successful in creating a stable robot, X-51, who
later took the name Machine Man. Broadhurst personally created the android
Wildwind to serve in the Underground Legion, but did not make her aware she was
actually an artificial lifeform, possibly to prevent her from going insane. Dr.
Broadhurst also re-programmed Sentry#459 to serve the Underground Legion.

Broop Brother Tode's court jester. Broop
was among those Deviants who invaded Olympia during their brief take-over of the
city. Following his people's defeat, Broop, along with all the other Deviants,
was re-shaped into a large block of matter, and cast into space by the Uni-Mind.

Brutus Leader of the Deviants following the
death of Ghaur. Brutus led an army of Deviant Mutates into Subterranea, to drive
out Grotesk, the Lava Men, the Mole Man and Tyrannus, and reclaim all their
stolen Deviant technology. Although he had no true powers of his own, his armor
contained a force-field. Brutus was slain by his own Mutates, angry at how he
had mistreated them, after learning he was a Mutate as well. -Avengers
