A Moment of Silence Please
For all those who lost their lives on Sept. 11th 2001
For all those who lost a loved one on Sept 11th 2001
For the men and women who protect our great country
FOR THE PRICE OF FREEDOM THAT'S BEEN PAID

Sept 11th 2001 will never be forgotten, nor the lost lives of Gulf War II
Sept 11th 2001, the day the Eagle cried...
TO MY MILITARY FRIENDS

I know you have a job to do
So know that I'll pray for you
When you go, please take care
My friendship now I do declare
I'll miss you all so very much
So do your best to keep in touch
All these thoughts make me teary
My feelings have been quite eerie
But I know you will all stay safe
So again one day I'll see your face
Do your job and make us all proud
I know you will all keep your vow
I thank God we have people like you
You are our protectors, that is so true
I do not know what else I can say
I had some feelings of dismay
Then I think and now I'm bright
I know we're gonna win this fight
Because I know you have a job to do
Again remember, I'll pray for you

This was wrote 2 hours after the WTC and Pentagon were struck by terrorists flying out planes.  Nothing has been the same since then because I worry about all my friends and family who've taken an oath to protect our country.  My heart goes out to those who lost their lives, to their families, and the entire country on Sept 11th 2001.  I also believe this poem speaks for the Saddam situation right now.  I have many friends and family members over there.  I also know that, sadly, some families have lost loved ones in the war with Iraq.
My step-Dad's brother lost his life in Iwo Jima.  A moment of silence for him, please, and for all those others who paid the price for our freedom.
The Memorial

We tried, we tried, oh God we tried
So we could be here too
And walk around remembering
And look for names we knew
Our lives were lost so far away
Upon a distance shore
But we are here in memory
As you read our names once more
Remember us, Remember us
Although we're truly gone
Remember us, as we once were
And not just names in stone
