Memoirs of my life by Day 5
I was born during a heatwave on June 8th at 11:34 am.  I was 6lbs 7ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long.  It was an easy delivery for myself and my mom.  I was born by c-section.  Mom said the Operating room was freezing and the anestheiologist seemed to have one too many the morning I was born.   But she also said it was nothing compared to the delivery of my brothers.
When the Dr. pulled me out the look on dad's face said it all...except for what sex I was.  Mom was wondering aloud and the Dr said,  "Shawn don't tell her...I'll show her!"  And mom got an eyeful.  (see It's a girl!)
Me, mom and dad were in recovery for no more than an hour!  And mom carried me in from the OR.  Everyone was impressed at how fast she recovered.  Unlike with my brothers I was with mom and dad the entire time...no NICU for me!  I was a good baby from the beginning.  I slept well and even opened my blue eyes for all to see.  I was one of the smallest babies in the nursery - but all the nurses said they liked the small babies the best anyway.
I had lots of visitors the first few days of my life.  My Grandma and Aunt Lauren were there when I was born and later that day my Aunt Kathy and my other grandma came too.  Grandpa came to visit that evening.  Aunt Jenny, Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jessica came the following day and Aunt Wendy came also - she brought beautiful flowers and a plaque with my name and date of birth on it.   Aunt Loretta and Uncle Artie visited and brought chocolates and cute little outfits.
Oh and my big brothers visited as well.  They were very curious and wanted to touch everything in the room.  They climbed all over mom's bed and were hanging all over my bed.  They tried to poke and pet me.  Believe it or not they were pretty gentle.  I think my family is pretty cool and I bet we'll have a lot of fun.
We finally got to go home on June 12th 2005.  We were still in the middle of the heatwave.  Mom dressed me in an adorable striped sun suit with a cute little hat (purchase by Auntie Lola of course - can't wait until I'm old enough to shop with her!).  It was a little big, but boy did I look precious.  Dad carried me down to the car in my carseat (a hand me down from my brothers).  I fell asleep and slept the entire ride home.
My brothers were waiting for me at home.  They loved to rock me in my carseat and Aidan even tried on my hat.  I think they like me a lot.  I really like them, they are funny little guys.
