| June 14th, 2005 Kaia's 1 week Appointment Kaia was a very good girl at her 1 week appointment. The nurse weighed her and measured her head. She weighed the same she did when she was discharged from the hospital - 6lbs 2 ozs. The nurse said she was adorable - as if we didn't know that:) Then the Dr. came in and listened to her heart looked in her eyes, ears, and mouth and talked to us about her. Everything looked great to him and we were on our way - no shots at this appointment. |

| June 28th, 2005 3 week Appointment weight: 7lbs length: 20 inches The Dr. said Kaia must have read the manual...she gained 14 ozs in 14 days and in the first few weeks babies should gain about an ounce a day so she is perfect. He said she's growing well and everything looks great! She escaped getting shots this time around but will not be so lucky at her August 4th appointment :( |
| August 4th, 2005 2 month Appointment weight: 8lbs 14ozs length: 21 1/2 inches Kaia is growing wonderfully and the Dr. said she looks great. She has a moderate case of "baby acne" which will go away by itself in the next few weeks-months. Other than that she is perfect. However, she was not so lucky this time and had to suffer through 3 shots - one for ADPT (diptheria, pertussis & Tetanus) one for hepatitis B and one for Pneumococcal. |
| September 13, 2005 3 month Appointment weight: 10 lbs 4 ozs length: 23 1/2 inches Kaia had a great appointment. The Dr. said she is growing beautifully. She went from the 10th percentile to the 25th in weight; and from the 25th to the 50th in height. The Dr. said she is very alert and she almost showed him how she can roll over - he was very impressed. She had a bit of a sniffle but the Dr wasn't concerned - and blamed it on her brothers ;) She did not escape without a shot - like her brother's appointment last week...she got her polio vaccine. |
| October 24th, 2005 4 month Appointment weight: 11lbs 6 ozs length: 24 inches Kaia had another very good appointmnet. She is growing perfectly keeping with her growth curve and staying in the 10-20 percentile for weight. We discussed her lack of napping :) and the Dr said it may be time to get tough and let her cry and learn to put herself to sleep. We'll give it a try. He also said that by the time we see him again (at her six month appt.) we could start her on some cereal since her head control is so good. Kaia also impressed the Dr when she rolled right over in one quick move while he was examining her. She did not escape her shots this time as she was due for her boosters for the vaccines she recieved at her two month appt. Next appt....Dec. 2005 |
| December 15th, 2005 6 month Appointment weight: 14lbs 4ozs length: 25 1/2 inches Kaia was perfect at her appointment today. She continues on the growth curve she started and her doctor was very happy. He said we can continue on with solid foods and start experimenting with all fruits and veggies. We were also able to sneak in a flu shot. He said they have just opened their last box of vaccines and if we had come tomorrow she would have missed out. She had to be 6 months old to get one and we were all sure that by this late date there would be none available. So our poor darling daughter had to suffer through 4 shots today - but she was very brave. Next appt....March 2006 (9 month Appt) |
