A few of the things that Brad and I both like are music, playing instruments, clothes, shopping, and spending time together! Brad and I reeeeeally like gospel music. Our favorite is an "urban" sound like the WOW Gospel Cds, Fred Hammond (my fav!), John P. Kee, Kurt Carr, etc. We also like Victor Wooten, Kirk Whalum,, Kenny G., etc. Brad likes some crazy music by Harry Conick Jr. (ugh!). He says he thinks love songs are boring, but he's turned on "Delila" more than once in the car so I'm not sure how serious he is about that statement :-). I sometimes like to listen to classical cello or my Spanish praise & worship music-For soooome reason (lol), I have this feeling Brad feels the same way about that as I do his Harry Conwick Jr. stuff :-).
Brad and I both come from musical families. My dad and brother both play guitar very well. My brother also plays electric bass, keyboard and sax. He also just signed as a writer with EMI Publishing. He is writing music for them. My lil' sis is only four, but she already has her first keyboard and drum set! :-) Brad's dad plays guitar/keyboard and his brothers and sister all play piano. His middle brother, Devin, also plays trumpet and drums. Any of you who know Brad and I know how crazy we are about playing music! I usually teach piano one night a week and love it! We both play piano/organ. I also play the cello, xyliphone, and three chords on the guitar :-). Along with keyboard, Brad plays drums (he is awesome, by the way!) and is attempting to learn the guitar (just a little more practice, Babe! Lol)
Another thing that Brad and I enjoy is doing foster care. We have had 8 different children in our home so far and have been able to impact most of their lives in a very positive way. We feel like this is an extension of the Bus Ministry that we do at church, but at a much more personal level. We enjoy teaching these kids about God and pray that they will remember what they've learned from us for years to come. We are looking into Therapeutic Foster Care since we currently have a hearing-impaired child in our home.
Clothes and shopping are still a major part of our lives :-)!!!! We don't always buy, but we love to go shopping! Now it is a lot of shopping for kids! (We always seem to spend a lot more than those clothing vouchers too!!!) I always tire of shopping a lot quicker than Brad (surprise, surprise!), but I still love to go. Our favorite thing to do is eat at Olive Garden at Utica square and then walk around and look in all the little shops. Of course, Brad usually has to make a trip by Starbucks while we're there!
