that nags me

or if only i could ignore
all the words that fly past me
that smack me down in my prime

is stand up
and be a part of this fabric
that covers us all
in my own color
and my own shape
and my own time
i'm not special
but it doesn't matter
i only have to be
here
and ready
and open
to all the possibilities
that surround us all
and that dye our fabric
into so many brilliant hues
so much light and dark
ready to be discovered
by the flick of a switch
and a date with the here and now...
