Swing Bike Badges and Decals

(Jerry Turner sent this note on 1/25/2007)

Bob:

I am Jerry Turner of Nostalgic Reflections www.NostalgicReflections.com and was approached by the Swing Bike Company owner back in the early 1970's, I think maybe '74 or '75 about making decals and bike badges for the new design that they were going to call a Swing Bike. I lived in Salt Lake City at the time. I gave them a price quote as I remember, but they never used me to make the parts. I believe that they had them made in Japan.

I am still in the business of making reproduction parts for antique vehicles; cars, airplanes, motorcycles, bicycles & boats.

I love to make the bike badges and decals. I guess it is just because of the elaborate art work in some of them. Most of the bike badges and decals that I make are custom "one off's". You want one?, I make ONE!

The largest order that I did was for the 50th anniversary Roadmaster bike. I made 6000 of the badges. I keep all my art work and tooling in my Transportation Museum where I now live in Veradale, Washington.

I have been approached by a customer to reproduce the bike badges and decals for the SWING BIKE. If you or any of your readers are interested in these or others, please put them in contact with me.

Thank you,

Jerry Turner

I have attached the color separations for the Swing Bike decal. Let me know what you think.

Swing Bike Decal Color Separation

Bob:

I have just finished the first two Swing Bike Badges. I made one in silver color and one in gold plating. They will sell for the same price. I have attached pictures of them in the flat and curved.
The die was very expensive to make and these things are very time consuming; but to a restored bike, this is defiantly the icing on the cake.
Because these will NOT be mass produced, the cost has to remain an affordable thing to the buyer, and I must still be able to make a living by doing this service. Therefore, the Bike Badge will sell for $185.00 each.
Please advise if you want a gold one or a silver one.
Thanks for your interest in my services, and keep those classic bikes rolling,
