FAMILY TREE PROJECT

 

HEDDEN/HEDDING - This family was in the PA area and moved through Ohio to Central Illinois.

David Bender Hedding the son of Samuel Hedden was born December 31, 1846 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pa.. The family moved through Ohio and the on to Illinois. They setteled in Macon County, Illinois. David Bender was married to Eliza Colchier and then to Almyra Murdock.

LEEK - William Frank Leek was born July 28, 1853 in Wabash County, Illinois. He married Ida M. THOMAS and the family moved to Southern Illinois. They had a son Robert Emmitt Leek in Stonefort, Illinois October 20, 1891. The family moved to Jefferson County, Illinois where Robert Emmitt married Linnie Beckham September 16, 1910 . William moved back to Allendale, Wabash County, Illinois where he died October 23, 1923. Robert and Linnie had 5 children and moved to Macon County, Illinois. Robert Died in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois February 27, 1947. Linnie died in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois October 30, 1951.

BECKHAM - Green Berry Beckham was born in 1786 in Orange County, NC. He passed away 1863 in Wayne County, TN. He married Martha Proctor in NC. They had 8 children one being a son Green Berry Jr. Beckham. He was born in 1814 in NC. He married Rebecca Weatherford born in TN. Green Berry Jr. and Rebecca had 7 children one son being William Green Berry Beckham born January 15, 1841 in Wayne County. TN. William married Margaret Mary Osborn July 28, 1868 in Jefferson County, Illinois. William and Margaret had 10 children born to them. William and Margaret had a daughter Linnie Beckham born October 12, 1892 in Mt. Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois. Linnie married Robert Emmitt Leek.

OSBORN - Phillip Osborn was born in NC 1796. He had 5 children that I know about. His wife is stil not known. One of his sons Lewis Osborn was born in McClellan Township, Jefferson County Illinois in 1826. He died on April 04, 1867 in Jefferson County, Illinois. He married Martha Hamilton Smith April 27, 1846 in Jefferson County. There were 9 children born to them in Jefferson County, Illinois. Lewis and Martha had a daughter Margaret Mary Osborn who was born November 16, 1849 in Jefferson County, Illinois. She died May 22, 1911 in McClellan Township, Jefferson County Illinois.

KOHLBECKER - The earliest known Kohlbecker is Mathias Kohlbecker. He was born about 1756 in Germany and was married to Gertrudis SIMONIS. To them was born Johann Jacob Kohlbecker September 16, 1794 in Hazenport, Coblenz, Germany. He married Anna Marie (Maiden not known). Johann and Anna Marie had 8 children born in Hazenport, Coblenz, Germany. Two of thier son's and one daughter moved to the United States. Phillip was born August 23, 1828 in Hatzenpart, Germany. He came to America and setteled in PA. He returned to Germany and back to the US and setteled in Springfield, Illinois. Phillip was married to Josephine Shorck who was born February 1841 in Baden, Germany. Phillip died April 21, 1915 in Springfield, Illinois. Josephine died October 08, 1916 in Springfield Illinois. Phillip and Josephine had 8 children. One of the children was Peter Fredrick Kohlbecker born June 28, 1874 in Springfield, Illinois. Peter died June 28, 1946 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. He married Mary Ann Roth in Springfield, Illinois September 20, 1898. There were 6 children born to Peter and Mary Ann Roth Kohlbecker. This family was of the Catholic Religion.

ROTH - Joseph Roth married Sophia Henn. They had one daughter that I know if Mary Ann Roth who was born in MO. July 09, 1878. I am unsure what happened to Joseph Roth. Sophia remmaried and moved to Springfield, Illinois with her husband Henry Schweiss.

HENN - The Henn Family was from Germany and went to MO. Sophia married Joseph Roth and second to Henry Schweiss. Sophia moved to Springfield Ilinois.

SCHWEISS - Henry Schweiss was born 1849 and died December 10, 1931 in Springfield, Illinois. He married Sophia Henn born 1855 and died September 03, 1924 in Springfield Illinois. Henry and Sophia had 8 children.

COOK - Jefferson Cook was born in SC and married Elizabeth Mooney born in OH. The family moved to the Tipton, IN area and had 6 children. One daughter born to them was Martha Francis Cook born 1854 in Tipton, IN and died in September 07, 1910 in Dewitt County, Illinois. Martha married John Thomas Tucker August 31, 1867 in Tipton County. John Thomas and Martha Cook had 9 children.

TUCKER - John Tucker born Bet. 1814 - 1815 in OH married Malinda (Emily) Hatchett. To them were 2 children born. John Tucker then married Mary Jackson and had 3 children.

One son that was born to John Tucker and Malinda Hatchett was John Thomas was born in Kokomo, IN April 10, 1850 and died May 17, 1929 at Hallsville, Dewitt County, Illinois. John Thpmas married Martha Francis Cook in Tipton, IN. John Thomas and Martha Cook had 9 children. One son being Charles Tucker August 30, 1867 in Tipton, IN. Charles Tucker married Cora Belle Geer in Dewitt County, Illinois. Charles and Cora moved to Macon County, Illinois. Charles died December 25, 1951 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. John Tucker and Mary Jackson moved the family to Dewitt County, Illinois. They were in several counties throught IN.

GEER - William E. Geer born abt. 1825 in OH married Mary Jane Runon who was born in OH abt. 1820. They had five children who I have been able to locate. One son born to them was George Washington Sr. Geer born December 10, 1844 in Peoria County and died April 03, 1920 in Clinton, Dewitt County, Illinois. George Washington Sr. Geer married Elizabeth Agnes Cornett in Dewitt County, Illinois. They had 5 children. One daughter being Cora Belle Geer born March 01, 1875 in Clinton, Dewitt County, Illinois. Cora Belle married Charles Tucker in Weldon, Dewitt County, Illinois.

CORNETT - Abraham Cornett and Mary Wooten was the parents of Elizabeth Agnes Cornett born March 04, 1853 near Warrensburg, MO. To them was also born a son John W. Cornett. They moved to Dewitt County, Illinois where Elizabeth married George Sr. Geer. At the time of Elizabeth's death on October 27, 1922 John W. Cornett was living in Ft. Still, OK.
