The Hispaniolan Trogon (El Papagayo - ave endemica a la isla) Priotelus roseigaster. Perhaps the most beautiful bird on the island. Found only in remote mountainous locations, it is endemic to Hispaniola.

Greater Antillean Bullfinch (El Gallito Prieto) Loxigilla violacea It is also found in Jamaica and the Bahamas.

A Spotted Rail (El Gallito Manchado) Pardirallus maculatus Hard-to-find bird of mangroves and swamps-this one had been caught by a local farmer and was being re-released.
