Introduction

Lord Hanuman is known for his bravery, power, selfless service, courage, devotion and loyalty to Shree Raam. He is a great devotee of Shree Raam. He is the epitome of devotion, knowledge, valor, strength, courage, humility and unwavering dedication to righteousness. He is a lifelong Brahmchaaree. He is said to be immortal and with many bodies, as he has the Var to be present wherever Raam's Kathaa is told in the world.

He is popularly known as Hanumat, Hanumant, Sankatmochan, Mahaaveer, Maaruti, Marut-nandan, Anjanee-nandan, Anjanee-putra, Pavan-putra, Vaayu-putra, Bajarangee, Bajarangbalee etc names. His many idols are covered with Sindoor, and people put it on their forehead after worshipping him.
