Week 6 Scores
The week 6 scores:
WhoDey 106
Gizzards 93
The WhoDey get another win on the strength of Trent Green's arm,
who comes up with 45. Curtis Conway had 22 and the Packers DS added
17 while putting the hurt on New England. The Gizzard's make it
close despite having a DS with the byeweek, and Jamie Martin not
getting the start for St. Louis (QB = zero points, ouch!) with 35
from Travis Henry, 16 from Stephen Davis and a whopping 5 FGs from
Mike Vanderjagt for 26. The WhoDey and Gizzards are now both 3-3.
Dawgs 168
Looney 100
The Dawgs howl with 53 from Daunte Culpepper vs the Detroit DS at
home, Jerome 'The Bus' Bettis got in gear for 32, and Ricky
Williams had 20. Again, another kicker, Jason Elam kicks 5 FGs for
26 BFL points for the Dawgs. The Looney got 39 from Drew Bledsoe,
25 from LaDainian Tomlinson (that guy is good), 14 from the
Tennessee DS, but was hurt by low scoring elsewhere. The Dawgs
move to 4-2 and the Looney are now 2-4.
Highlanders 104
Mules 113
This game was decided last night during the 49er/Seahawk game.
The Highlanders came roaring back but fall short. The Mules got
38 from Rich Gannon, 25 from Michael Bennett, and especially 19
from Shaun Alexander last nite, which preserved the victory. The
Highlanders got 26 from Tom Brady and Terrell Owens, 15 from Jerry
Rice, but needed one more big play for the win.The Mules move to
5-1 atop the Halas Division and the Highlanders are now 3-3.
Pipsqueaks 113
Manglers 120
This game was also decided last night, and I don't mind saying,
Jeff Garcia waited almost a little too long to get the job done
for the Manglers!! I don't need the stress, Jeff! Garcia connected
with Terrell Owens for a 37 yard TD in the 4th quarter last night,
and ended up with 35 BFL points. Priest Holmes scored 22, John
Carney kicked for 18, and the Carolina DS (with 7 sacks) helped out
with 24. The Pipsqueaks had a much more balanced scoring attack
with 29 from Brett Favre, 16 from Torry Holt, 14 from Duece
McAllister, 12 from Olindo Mare, 10 from Marcus Pollard and 26 from
the Miami DS, but like the Highlanders, needed 1 more big play for
the win. The Manglers claw to 3-3 and the Pipsqueaks are now
also 3-3.
Meeks 137
Outlanders 188
Can somebody tell me how the Outlanders were 0-5? They poured it
on this weekend, taking a page from the Meeks own 'playbook', with
a New Orleans DS scoring 57 points on 2 kick returns, 5 turnovers
and 6 sacks! They also got 37 from Aaron Brooks, 29 from Eddie
George and made a wise decision in starting Mike Alstott, who had
a big game for Tampa Bay and 29 BFL points. The Meeks like the
Pipsqueaks had balanced scoring right down the line, Peyton Manning
33 points, Marshall Faulk 25, Marvin Harrison 18, Eric Moulds 16,
Clinto Portis 15, Antonio Bryant 13, but it didn't add up to enough
to over come the New Orlenas DS. The Outlanders are now 1-5 and the
Meeks, like Oakland this week, were the last unbeaten team, and are
now 5-1, still atop the Landry division.
Mustangs 152
Butchers 71
Another 0-5 team posts their first win of the season in a big way!
How are the Mustangs 0-5? (Mike, you scored 71, not 64, you missed
Gonzales' 3 yard TD) The Mustangs kicked up their heels with a big
game from Joey Harrington for 44, Ahman Green and Jamal Lewis, both
with 29, Plaxico Burress with 15, and Morten Anderson putting up
another 17. The Butchers couldn't get started other than Brian
Griese's 38 points, with Tony Gonzales being held in check for only
7 points. The Mustangs get their first win and are now 1-5 and the
Butchers even things up at 3-3.
