"TESTAMENTUM"

The English word TESTAMENT, i.e. as it is so used to identify a collection of Biblical scriptures, such as THE OLD TESTAMENT and THE NEW TESTAMENT, is unknown to original Biblical MSS.

That foregoing "wrongful labeling" of the world's most commonly produced Bibles came first to us, by the way of the Roman Catholic Latin Vulgate Version somewhere between the years 382 A.D., and 405 A.D., and was so rendered in the older Latin Versions, before Jerome's day.

But it was Jerome who wrongfully changed the Hebrew word BERITH, to the Latin words FOEDUS, or PACTUM, and reverting to the Latin word TESTAMENTUM in his foregoing NEW TESTAMENT translation. BERITH simply meant IN THE BEGINNING. GENESIS.

Tertullian, in 150 A.D. to 200 A.D., used TESTAMENTUM, only as the heading of Luke's Gospel.

Even as used in Heb 9:16,17. DIATHEKE, of COVENANT, was never given as "the titles for any collection of Biblical epistles", be they either so-called OLD TEASTAMENT or NEW TESTAMENT epistles, Heb 8:6-13 notwithstanding.

The foregoing "wrongful dividing" of our common Bibles, into the two major divisions of the so-called OLD TESTAMENT and THE NEW TESTAMENT, has led to inescapable doctrinal, and "dispensational" errors, for the following reasons:

(1). In 2 Tim 2:15, the Apostle Paul gives the following "scriptural formula" for "rightly dividing" the entire Word of God:

"STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD, A WORKMAN THAT NEEDETH NOT TO BE ASHAMED, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH", the Greek word for "RIGHTLY DIVIDING" being ORTHOTOMEO. Or, "RIGHTLY DRAWING A STRAIGHT LINE THROUGH (i.e. BETWEEN) THE DISPENSATIONAL DIVISIONS", AS PLAINLY IDENTIFIED IN THE FOLLOWING VERSES:

Heb 1:1,2 "GOD, WHO AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND IN DIFFERENT MANNERS SPAKE IN TIME PAST UNTO THE FATHERS BY THE PROPHETS, HATH IN THESE LAST DAYS SPOKEN UNTO US BY HIS SON…".

Note: There it is. "GOD NEVER CHANGES". And, "CHRIST JESUS IS INDEED THE SAME,YESTERDAY, TO-DAY,AND FOREVER". But to deny "THAT GOD DID, DOES, AND WILL CONTINUE TO SPEAK, AT DIFFERENT TIMES, TO DIFFERENT BODIES OF PEOPLES, AND IN DECIDEDLY DIFFERENT (DISPENSATIONAL) MANNERS", would be to deny the foregoing plain spoken words to that effect, in Heb 1:1,2.

In the foregoing 2 Tim 2:15, ALL are instructed by Paul TO DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE BETWEEN THE FOREGOING DIFFERENT (DISPENSATIONAL) GODLY PROGRAMS!

Do so. And as a student of Holy Writ, you will become "APPROVED UNTO GOD", AS "A WORKMAN THAT NEEDETH NOT TO BE ASHAMED", for having "RIGHTLY DIVIDED THE WORD OF TRUTH".

Do not do so, and the reverse will assuredly occur. For you will end up "AN ASHAMED WORKMAN, DISAPPROVED OF GOD", HAVING "WRONGFULLY DIVIDED THE WORD OF TRUTH".

Yes. According to the foregoing related verses, there can be no possible "Godly merit" ascribed to any person that, for whatever reason(s), chooses to "WRONGFULLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH". Especially when Paul set forth God's (three) major, dispensational divisions, in the following verse:

1 Cor 10:32 "GIVE NONE OFFENCE, NEITHER TO (THE JEWS), NOR TO (THE GENTILES), NOR TO (THE CHURCH) OF GOD".

All scriptures are directed to but one of those three unique, dispensational bodies. ALL are to "DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE BETWEEN THEM".
