A Forgiving People? A Forgetful People?
or just a bunch of pushovers?

What is the normal fate of a leader that does his country wrong? At worst, death. At best, a specific and final sentencing to a punishment that is determined by a sound legal procedure.

How have the Philippines' deposed leaders been treated? One was flown out of the country and settled in an island paradise prison. Another is in legal limbo whose conviction is forever to be mired in controversy because of the extra-legal circumstances of its undertaking.

Both our deposed leaders still enjoy significant political clout and a cadre of lieutenants lying low and waiting for the right moment to make a move.

Both have ill-acquired wealth that may never be recovered.

Most ridiculous of all, both have relatives currently holding significant positions in government, many of them elected by popular vote.
