"A collection of memories will never die"

"A SINGLE TEAR"

There are many times that I will miss; How I long for your cheek to again kiss; I know that someday I will walk with you; Hand in hand under the skies so very blue; Now as I sit wishing that you were here; Down my cheek is running a single tear. Copyright © 1997 B. J. Covington

"MISSING YOU" Today is the very first day of spring, Looking upon your grave I do not sing, Almost five years have now passed by, The loss I feel can still make me cry, If I could just talk to you once again, Perhaps you could help ease this pain, So much was left unsaid for many years, Your death brought to surface my fears, I wish I could see your loving smile, Listen again to your laughter awhile, You were a proud Dad and I felt your love, Are you now watching from somewhere above, So much has happened since you went away, I miss you and wish you were here today. "In Memory of Alfred Smoat" (1933-1996)
"`TIL WE MEET AGAIN" Into our lives you came one year ago, Down to earth, never putting on a show, You were a man with dignity and pride, Your pain and suffering you tried to hide, We were only able to share one short year, During that time we came to hold you dear, Only God knows why our paths came to cross, Now gone from our lives we feel such a loss, Your friendship gave a great deal of pleasure, Our memories of you we will always treasure, So rest in peace, be no longer in pain, Goodbye dear friend, `til we meet again. Dedicated in memory of (Smokey) Alfred Smoat. Died on March 23,1996 after a long bout with cancer. Copyright © 1996 B. J. Covington

My Best Friend Patsy
"MY BUDDY"
For many years we have stayed in touch, And now in my crisis you are my crutch, There were many days that I couldn't cope, But you were always there, giving me hope, Only you would talk to me the way you do, You cared enough to really help me through, I am sure at times, you believed I was nuts, When I confided in you, it really took guts, It makes me happy that you have stuck by me, I know, this is how real friends should be. "MARRIED LIFE"
Today is the beginning of your married life, Starting now you will be husband and wife, Always be loving, very supportive and kind, Put aside the pasts that you have left behind, Tomorrow start the day saying, "I love you!", Give your love freely, begin every day anew, Value your love, always show your respect, Accept the faults you find, no one is perfect, It is okay if you get angry from time to time, Know that saying, "I'm sorry", is not a crime, There is much happiness that you can share, And many ways to show how much you care, Remember your spouse is equal to yourself, Do not let your love collect dust on a shelf, Promises you made on this wedding day, Are not to be forgotten in any way, Treasure this love as long as you both live, Love is a wonderful gift that is a joy to give, Live and love, be loyal, always laugh together, For love will overcome any stormy weather, Be very best friends, now and each day after, And share your married life full of laughter.
