A little About Me

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I guess since you are at this page, you are looking to find out a little about me. Being a very private person most of the time means this page is a bit difficult for me to create. This page is a work in progress.

I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. Spent almost my entire life there until I met my husband. On July 10th 1998 at the ripe old age of 40..*eeek*...I married my best friend....the love of my life...my soul mate. This wonderful union of our two souls has taken me to Texas. After 40 years of living in one of the most beautiful areas in Canada, I left my homeland and all I had come to know and love. Though I do get homesick, I am very happily married and wouldn't trade my happiness for anything.

My favorite past times are playing c0omputer games, especially Everquest 2, watching almost anything Sci-fi, writing poetry, surfing the net for poetry pages and working on my own web site. I started writing poetry in my mid teens after being introduced to some great poets of the past by my grade 9 English teacher. Through out the years, my writing has taken many twists and turns. Sometimes my poems are full of anger. Dramatic, dark, deep. Sometimes they are full of love. Romantic, sensual, dreamy. There are times when they are sad. Tears, losses, heart breaking. Then there are the times I've written just for fun. Some of my poems I think are great, some are so-so and there are some that are just down right awful but they are all mine. Each and every one of them are mine. My thoughts, my feelings, my dreams, my desires and whatever else I choose to write about. I am inspired by so many different things in life and ironically, when I'm sad, I write poems of love and when I'm happy, I write poems of broken hearts. Go figure!

My maiden name was HUGHES and the searching of my roots has become a passion of mine. My genealogy search at present has hit a stand still but I will never give up. Somewhere out there, someone knows the answers. They are my relatives based on our sharing the same ancestors. My own family line stayed in Nova Scotia, Canada but several of my ancestors moved to Brockton, MASS. in the early 1900's and hopefully I'll find the missing link so I can complete the 5th generation and maybe get some clues on how to start on the 6th.

That just about sums up what I have to say for now. If there is anything that you wish to know, especially about my genealogy research, please feel free to contact me. OH MY!! I almost forgot the picture..darn..I did say I had one so if you are really curious here it is: My Picture
