I'm not one to talk about myself to strangers, so, for the purposes of this page, I'll pretend your not.

As I have told my children many time, I grew up an only child on a small farm, near a small town in the midwest. I married soon after graduation, as most girls did in the late 50's and early 60's. The changing views of the woman's roll in society were just emerging.

Our first son did not come along until ten years later, and the second seven years after that. We all live less than a mile apart in another small town today.

When my oldest son was two, I went back to school, and got my degree from a community college not far from home. After fifteen years in my chosen profession, I had to retire, due to health reasons. Eight years later I went back to work in a part-time job that didn't require a lot of physical labor, but had to give that up after only four years due to gradual decrease in physical abilities.

That's when I got my own computer. I had been writing stories all my life, secretly dreaming of getting published. I started with the ordinary notebook,filling many with my thoughts and experiences. But then, I went to the electric typewriter. I never was a great speller, and I think that is what held me back, still I liked to write. I had read almost a book a week for the last twenty-five years, and my writing improved with time. I augmented that with self-education so that I might have a chance as a writer, so I began getting books on the subject from the good old public library.

In 1997, when my computer came along, I also discovered the Internet, and the world that it had to offer. Since then, I have written several short stories, and gotten a good start on two novels. One is a mystery and the other is based loosely on the parts of my life that are not included in this short history. I still haven't gotten published yet, but that day will come.

On this website, I am sharing some of my thoughts, some of what I've learned in my search to improve my writing, and some of the things I've learned simply by living, and by exploring my computer and the Internet.

As you may gather, I spend a lot of time on the computer. With the help of books, software, and the Internet, I learned to build my own website. And I want to share what I've found with your, and, with feedback and continued research, I will update this site regularly.
