BEHCET'S ONTARIO
Canada
Specialist's
Specialist's you may need to see.
For people with autoimmune diseases, getting a proper diagnosis can be one of the most difficult challanges they face. Throughout the course of your illness you may have to see a wide variety of specialist. Since there is not one doctor who deals with Behcet's Disease as a whole, you may be sent from one specialist to another. We have listed some of the specialist's that you may need to see.

1. Rheumatologist - for joint problems and inflammation.
2. Dermatologist - for skin.
3. Gynaecologist - (female) for genital ulcers.
4. Urologist - (male) for genital ulcers.
5. Ophthalmologist - for vision and eyes.
6. Gastroenterologist - for digestive, bowl problems and mouth/nasel ulcers.
7. Neurologist - for central nervous system.
8. Paediatrician - for children.

Be prepared to be poked and prodded and have a variety of test done. At some points in your journey, you may feel like a human lab rat, but be patient. Most of your tests will come out negitive. This is not to say that you are not sick, but only that they have ruled out other possible causes for your symptoms. Then and only then can they make a proper diagnosis.
