BEHCET'S ONTARIO
Our Success
Behcet's Ontario has been very busy trying to bring about awarness to Behcet's Disease in Canada. We were featured on a segment on how Behcet's Disease affects our lives.
The show was broadcast on the
Discovery Health Channel in January, 2005. The program was Health On The Line With Avery Haines, episode "orphane diseases". The show went very well, with good response from viewers.

On July 9,2005 we held our first ever Behcet's Family BBQ with great success. We had families come from across Ontario and as far away as New York and the United Kingdom.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Mahajan was very informative and gave some good insight into the disease. He also lead an open discussion and shared with us, dealing with Behcet's patients from a doctor's point of view.

Overall it was a wonderful day with families getting to meet each other and share their experiences in living with Behcet's Disease. We would like  thank all who attended for making the day such a success.
Due to the response we have had several requests for a copy of this broadcast. We now have an edited DVD available with this episode and another program we were featured on called Daytime. If you would like to purchase a copy, please email us for more information at BehcetsOntario/DVD

Behcet's Family BBQ a Success!
Second Annual Behcet's Ontario BBQ A Triumphant Success!
Our guest speakers this year included Donna from the Vasculitis Foundation and Simona a Remicade Infusion Nurse. The main focus of the day was the discussion of new treatments for Behcet's Disease. We also had individuals share their personal victories and success stories.

It turned out to be an enlightening day with many new friendships having been formed. We would like to thank all who came out to share in this event and making it such a wonderful day for us all.

A special thank you goes out to Schering Canada for thier support and The Cross Roads Church for allowing us to host this educational lecture and social gathering there.
Once again we had a very successful Behcet's BBQ. This years event grew to over double the size with people from across Canada and the USA participating.
