Autumn Bread
- 2/3 Cups shortening
- 2-1/2 Cups sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 Cups pumpkin or squash or 1-1/2 Cup bananas
- 1 Cup water
- 3-1/2 Cup flour
- Chopped nuts, (soaked) dried fruit, chocolate chips,(if desired)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Grease
3 loaf pans and sprinkle with sugar. Divide batter evenly
between pans. Sprinkle tops with sugar. Bake in a pre-heated
350 degree oven for 1 hour or until tests done. Cool at
least 10 minutes before removing from pans.
