JACKIE & EDUARDO IN EDMONTON 2004

MATRIMONIO - WEDDING

From Calgary, Jackie, Eduardo and Lucille drove to Edmonton to visit Eduardo’s brother, Mauricio. Mauricio is visiting from Cali, Colombia, and is studying mites at the University of Alberta. It was a 2 and a half hour drive on what seemed like the world’s straightest highway.

We just happened to see an IKEA store on the side of the highway leading into Edmonton…and of course we had to stop!!! And go inside. And have breakfast. And spend the morning shopping. Lucille and Eduardo managed to drag Jackie away at lunchtime before she did too much damage to her bank account.

Edmonton, the capital of the Province of Alberta, has many attractions, including the West Edmonton Mall. This mall is said to be the second largest mall in the world and contains a wave pool, an amusement park, a submarine, a hockey rink (pictured here with Lucille, Jackie and Mauricio) and over 800 stores…all under the same roof!

Of course, Jackie wouldn’t be caught dead REALLY bungee jumping.

We went for lunch with Mauricio to a historical site on the U of A campus. After lunch, we took a tour of the house. Our beautiful tour guide (Lucille) showed us all kinds of doodads from the past and explained their functions.
