T'mal

Tiamal looked about nervously as he slowly stepped onto the hatching sands at Aneris Weyr.  This had to be, for sure, the most nerve-wracking experiance that he'd ever had in his entire life.  Now was the time when five human lives and five dragon lives would be changed for the better...  That is, if the dragonets found the Candidates acceptable.

Tiamal shivered at the thought; what if the last dragonet on the sands didn't find him acceptable?  He wasn't going to stand on the sands and watch that happen if he could prevent it, but then again, no one could make a dragonet pick a certian person.

While shivering with anticipation, the young glasscrafter watched as the first egg split to reveal a tiny brown dragonet.  He hurried over to the male Candidates, and quickly chose Triegren out of the males.  Sighing, Tiamal looked back at the other four eggs.

The next egg that began to hatch was one of the smaller ones.  When the egg finally broke, the little blue was spilled out onto the sands, and none of the boys made a move to help him.  However, when the little blue hatchling finally made up his mind, he walked quickly over to Tiamal.

Why didn't you come and help me?
The little blue asked him pitifully.

"I wasn't sure that you wanted me to, Giardeth," Tiamal replied, suddenly realizing that the tiny blue had chosen him.  "Giardeth!"

Weyrling...
