The Second Annual

Great CALnadian Rendezvous

Roger B Demilles took care of the pictures, first time I've seen a guy drink wobbly pop, and, shoot a camera a the same time, should get some great ceiling shots. Roger, as usual, out did himself with the great spread he put on at the National Yacht Club. A medival feast buffet, some of which included, game hen, pasta ala' roi, imported spring garden delights, magnificently interwoven into a culinary masterpiece. English sesame seed, French bagot, and German Pumpernickle rolls, and, of course wobbly pop by the barrel, served under the ambience of candle light, and to the delightful strains of a live minstral group, served in the room de soiliel, with the beautiful Toronto skylight and harbor front.

In the course of conversation, Richard and Reese Fuller, related how they have been busting their derrrieres, in the course of the last year, in efforts, to be able to restore their Cal 28 to sailing, then new vessel pristine condition, so as to be able to have some room to live. Apparently, Reese has taken to scupture, and, the six foot "Dragon Chair" and other gargoyles are taking over at the home front.

Roger and Eileen also upgrading the interior of their Cal 31, have developed a new form of scraper for removing that foam back interior cloth, known as the "Eileen", apparently quite effective, however, unfortunately, there are no plans for marketing it
at this stage. They share the common problem with me, of how to, and with what for replacement, Eileens' interior designer has suggested a removeable cloth covered ply panel, choice of fabric and design still under negotiation. While Roger and Eileen are working on their fore cabin, mine continues in the main"Grande salon" of my Cal 2-27.

We shared the festivities, with a larger, rowdy bunch of C&C owners, who eventually offered gifts to Roger and Richard in efforts to make peace, after we received the backing of some Tartan owners who were also there. All the while, the wobbbly pop kept flowing, and Roger kept the camera rolling. I is my understanding, he has some great tonsil shots, during the repose. We may have the makings of the first Cal reunion in real quick time, depending on what ends up on the cutting room floor. Thanks again Roger for being the perfect host. Oh yes, by the way do we get residuals on the film? Please have your agent contact my agent? I am sure we can negotiate.

Great friends , great people, good times, it just doesn't get much better than this.
