Australian school continues to operate in Jakarta after attack
The Australian International School in Jakarta is operating today amid tight security
after a grenade exploded in the school grounds last night.
Police say the grenade was hurled over the school fence by two men riding past on a
motorbike.
The school principal Penny Robertson says the building was damaged but no one
was hurt.
Following the United States strikes on Afghanistan, Indonesia's radical Islamic groups
have threats against the US and its allies.
The police have actually offered us whatever security we need to ensure that our
parents and our students feel safe. They have now put on 30 police surrounding this
campus, the campus in Kamung and the campus in Bali. They have said they will be
here as long as we need them.
