W.A.T.C.H. Service Dogs for Emotional Empowerment
Women And Their Canine Helpers exists primarily to provide service dogs to women with emotional disabilities. However, if you need a dog for physical  or other type of support, we'd love to talk with you.
Anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other emotional disabilities can make it difficult to maintain a normal life.
At WATCH, we know firsthand how debilitating emotional disabilities can be. Members of our staff have service dogs of their own and have experienced emotional disability. We also know firsthand that a WATCH dog possesses the ability to change lives and provide new freedom and recovery. Our goal is to provide you with a companion that will give you the security and freedom to pursue your dreams.
WATCH dogs are carefully selected and must undergo our extensive training and socialization program. We offer dogs with stable temperaments and strong working ability; dogs with intelligence and sensitivity to their handlers. Our dogs accompany women with emotional disabilities in all daily activities-the grocery store, movie theater, out to lunch, doctor's appointments, family gatherings and anyplace else that is open to the public. We employ formerly homeless dogs of various and mixed breeds and are proud to announce a breeding program of South African Boerboels bred specifically for the job. Proffer's kennels has graciously donated our first Boerboel, who will be the foundation for the WATCH Boerboels breeding program. He will work as a demo dog in public outreach, which means he will be trained as a working service dog, but will stay with the WATCH team and attend all WATCH functions as an ambassador for  working Boerboels. Through our partnership with Proffer's we will also be employing rescued Boerboels for our program. At WATCH, we strive to educate the public about service dogs and accessability. Because dogs for emotional assistance are not as well recognized as service dogs that assist the physically disabled,we work  to bring recognition to our cause. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining WATCH as a volunteer. If you feel you could benefit from an emotional assistance dog, please do not hestitate to email us to discuss your thoughts. Let us know what we can do to start you on your way to a new freedom.
