Part two:
Better the devil you know.

Part three:
There's no place like home.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have always admired the Greatis Elephantis! It is my favourite animal in the whole wide world for one simple reason - an Elephant represents strength and wisdom.
An Elephant stands staunt against the elements, wize and calculated, protective of what matters most...family. If I had a totem it would be the elephant, by and far, just for it's grace alone.
And by the way...Size does matter!
First of all I would like to start by saying, there is such a thing as being "normal" and the next person to question this with "what is normal" will be told this by me...normal is...independently taking responsibility for one's own life and actions and learning from mistakes made and lessons learnt, setting goals, working for a living, finding love, surviving sorrow, finding boundaries, setting limits, being thoughtful and considerate of others, and above all else, just finding a way to cope with it all.
The opposite to normal then in my books is "not normal". By definition this is even more taboo than "normal". Well I'm going to just come right out and say that there are plenty of people who are "not normal" and many of these people have mental illnesses (some through no fault of their own, some completely self-inflicted) and by "not normal" I mean as mad as a cut snake "not normal".
So now I have reinvented the definition to be not normal, I can carry on and say my mother is not normal, never has been and I have given up the hope that she ever will be. Welcome to the dark, private world of living with a Mental Illness.
Just for the record, I am not immune to bouts of depression and manic episodes, but I choose to set realistic limits for myself, like most other normal people, and I manage to cope any way I can. I dare to just keep getting up and getting up.
In this world we are all a little bit crazy, some are just better at it than others - Cherry-Anne Fosberry RN.
