1. The key idea of this course is Faith. There was the biblical idea of faith, that faith is not intellectual but more of a loving trust, that faith involves periods of doubt and struggle, that faith involves taking a risk and periods of darkness, and also that faith is an ongoing series of decisions. There was also the secular and catholic definitions of faith. The secular definition of faith was an allegiance to a duty or person, something that is believed with string conviction. The the catholic defintion which was an intellectual assent to a loving God and his revelation. Then there were the seven parts of it that faith is a grace, requires free human response, is a risk, is reasonable, is certain, seeks understanding, and is a virtue.
2. One thing I would like to remember are the seven parts of the definition of catholic faith, that faith is a grace, requires free human response, is a risk, is reasonable, is certain, seeks understanding, and is a virtue. Faith is grace means it is a gift form God. Faith requires free human response means that it requires and acceptance on our part. Faith is a risk means you don't know for sure and theere is an uncertain future ahead of you. Faith is reasonable maens that if you have faith in God you must have good reasons for it. Faith is certain means that it is not based on hope alone it comes from the inside us. Faith seeks understanding means that the more we love someone the more we want to learn about them. Faith is a virtue means that to stick withit even as emotions and temptations overvome us is virtuous.

Another thing I would like to remember would be the Golden way of faith that nihilism and radicalism are not logical choices only faith is. Nihilism is a view point that all traditional valueas and beliefs are unfounded and that exixtence is senseless and useless, basically is is the denial of truth altogether. Radicalism is believing something is true  without any evidence to support it or when there is strong evidence contrary to that belief. Two kinds of Radicalism are Fundamentalism, which is when members of any religion interpret their holy book literall in all ways, and the other is Fanaticism, which is believing in something so zealously that it becomes unreasonable. Nihilism is reason but no belief and Radicalism is beliefs but no reason therefore the only choice is faith beliefs supported by reason.

The last thing I would like to remember is the difference between consolation and desolation. Spiritual consolation is "any increase in faith, hope, and charity" according to Ignatius, it is when you experience feelings of peace and postive emotions that draws you towards God. Spiritual Desolation is  when you get feeling of depression and confusion that moves you away from God. Another way to look at it is that consolation is good feelings that stay with you and desolation can be seen as good feelings for a time but they do not stay with you.

How important is catholic faith in my life and are both the biblical idea and the catholic definiton part of it?
Something I can do to make myself a better person I think would be instead of viewing the terrorists as evil look more at how they look at it, and do this in other things too besides just the terrorists.
