Summary
I believe that over the past three weeks the key idea was that of questioning reality, seeing the truth and accepting it. The story of Plato's Allegory of the Cave represents this mainly along with Deion's Sanders's story how he used all material goods to find happiness but in reality he realizes that none of those things will ever please him. Once he realizes this he does not want to change but does and realizes how much better his life is now. This key idea is also represented in Socrates story he sees that what everyone sees are illusions and decides to change and try to help the others but it is hard and the others don't want to accept the truth so they kill him. Another story that represents this is Eric Clapton's story of how hew used drugs and alcohol to make himself happy but realizes that this is not reality and realizes that he needs to change but he does not want to accept it because change is hard. I believe this gives some true insight into human nature, we as humans believe in illusions of reality and look for false pleasure and at some level we now this but we don"t want to accept because we do not like change.
Three Things I Want to Remember
1. One thing I want to remember was
Plato's Allegory of the Cave about men in a cave seeing shadows on a wall that they believe are real until one man gets dragged out and sees the truth but at first does not want to accept it and wants to go back to the safety of the cave. But then he realizes that it is much better becasue this is reality and returns to the cave to tell everyone else, but they fear change and do not want to accept it so they kill him to protect themselves. I beleive it is something to remember because is a true philosophy of life we are seeing illlusions and that when we learn the reality of life it is something new and  we do not want to change.

2.Another thing I would like to remember are the
Five Foundational Lessons which are five very important lessons that describe everyone. I want to remember this because I believe it applies to everyone.

Lesson # 1  I am necessarily and unavoidably making decisions all the time. These can and do affect me, others and my world. By these decisions, I am determining who I am and the person I am becoming.

Lesson #2  I see the world through "colored lenses." I am necessarily and unavoidably (to a greater or lesser degree) biased.

Lesson #3  The value judgment I make determine my actions. My mental health and happiness (and often those of many others) rests on the validity of these value judgments.

Lesson #4  Any change in the particular beliefs that control my approach to life cannot help but modify and change my life. It will affect the quality and the texture of all I experience.

Lesson #5  The most significant decisions I make in life will be faith decisions. Faith is an opinion based upon evidence to which I am committed.

These are important because it is an aspect of everyone no matter who you or where your from your always making decisions that will affect your life, or your biased in some way or another. They are very important in everyone's life and every one has them.

3. One more thing I would like to remember is the meaning of metanoia which means a change of mind and heart, turning away form sin and moving towards grace, and also moving away from selfishness and illusion and moving toward towards truth and love. I want to remember this because I think it is a key aspect of theology.

Question
What is the purpose of my life?  What is the meaning of it?  Why was I put here?
Better Person
To make my self a better person I should examine the way I live my life a lot closer. This means think before I act I should realize what this means to my life.   Also I should believe in something more than myself. This means have something more to represent than myself like my family or SLUH be part of a bigger association And also I should set goals to guide my life so I don't let life do what it wants with me but for me to control my own life. This means setting reasonable goals that I can achieve so I have a direction in life but not impossible standards that I wont be able to achieve.
