Yoriyoshi's son Minamoto Yoshiie (1039-1106) was worthy of daddy's name; to the Japanese of every generation since 1106 he has been known simply as 'Hachiman Taro' -- 'first son of the god of war'. People said Yoshiie fits in every inch to the nickname. And this still be so even though the meaning of the name is actually rather 'civilian': 'the good house'.
