| Dear Letters Editor: Recurring Events Tobacco and gun manufactures should not be sued for being used by people to injure themselves or others. If anyone other than smokers are to blame for their condition, it's the Congressmen who voted to extort money from taxpayers to subsidize tobacco growers. If anyone other than shooters are responsible for gun related injuries, it is the state and local governments that delude people into believing they are protected by police, deny concealed carry permits and concentrate criminal elements in federally mandated housing projects. Of course when crime continues, the authorities claim they just need a few more tax dollars to "put more cops on the street." Special Events These governments effectively tax and regulate away 70% of what people earn, severely limiting the ability of families to improve the safety of their homes, schools and neighborhoods, or their relocation to better ones. Why people continue to vote for more of the same is beyond me. Vote Libertarian for a change.
