What American Custom was hard for you to adjust to?

"The non-metric system is still tough. Celsius/Fahrenheit is a little off for me because I'm used to Celsius. Knowing how fast to go when I'm driving is a challenge, too. I just drive as fast as the other cars."

How is L.A. different from Montreal?

"Montreal is a lot like New York City. You can walk everywhere; you don't need a car. I never drove in Montreal. I lived downtown, where the buses and subways are amazing. When I first got here, I said to someone that I could probably just walk around. They were like, 'Are you drunk? You need a car!'"

What do you like about L.A.?

"The weather! After two years living here, I've grown to love it. And I've made wonderful friends, too."

Doesn't Canada celebrate Thanksgiving in October?

"Yes, and it's depressing because I'm usually here. Nobody comes to make me turkey. I'm the lonely Canadian on Thanksgiving."

What are the difference between American and Canadian soaps?

"I would probably say the bad sound quality [in Canada]. The production values are just as good. It really doesn't matter where you are-daytime will always lack the respect it deserves. Even internationally, save for Italy with this show. I look at the people I work with who have been doing this for years, learn 20-40 pages every day, [are] able to access intense emotion at the drop of a hat and look really great. All of that put together spells 'respect' to me."

Do you speak another language

Yes, French. In Quebec, you have to learn it, but I actually went to a strictly French school for seven years. There was a point where I was better in French than I was in English. But honestly, I'm afraid I'm starting to forget it because nobody speaks it here. Sometimes I encounter European fans and speak French to many of them, and they usually jump out of their skins. They're usually in shock that I can speak French."
