Pacific black duck, Cairns, NQ [PH]

The pacific black duck, Anas superciliosa (family Anatidae), is called the most familiar duck in most of the area, so much so that the name inh arranyj is used by some Oykangand speakers as a generic term for all ducks, although the burdekin duck, Tadorna radjah, the whistling-ducks, Dendrocygna spp., and the green pygmy-goose, Nettapus pulchellus, have specific names.
