The San Diego Spinners club was founded in 1990, with the specific intent to establish a club in San Diego which would promote through competition, the Birmingham Roller. Some of the original members were: Paul Platz; Jerry Lynn; Ron Moden; Gary Sult; and Rod Smith. These gentlemen set the ground work in place which is still being built upon. In honor of Paul Platz, the club holds a yearly lawn show on the third Saturday in May. "The Paul Platz Show" has been a very well attended event in Southern California since it's inception. The San Diego area flyers thank these men for their foresight and dedication to the sport of flying Rollers. Other past members: Roy Trehern; Terry Boyd; Joe Vidrine; Jonathan Fleming; Jamie Kimball; Bill Simpson; John Jones; Tony Woerner; Joe Peluso; Gustavo Medel; Steve Medel. |
