I have a Livejournal now. I seem to be actually using it to write stuff in as well. Its easier than the website, just type and post. So it gets updated several times a day. I had every intention of using this site for a fic archive, but...

This site is getting steadily more out of date. You can still find thoughts on Life, Goddess, Universe, Terry Pratchett and Babylon 5, all in the Temple. In the Library there is a selection of links and a list of my writing, much of which is Highlander fanfic and is housed in the Dojo.

I go to a lot of Conventions and I collected my reports and photos here.

As you can see from the conventions page, I'm into Buffy and Angel. I haven't been much in the online fandom / fanfic bit, until the September when Season 8 would have started but didn't on account of Buffy being over. Then I found myself severely Buffy deprived and started reading all the fanfic I could get my hands on. In November Ethan Rayne arrived in my head, full of helpful comments and ideas. In January, since he showed no signs of departing, and since I actually kinda like him here anyways, I started writing some of the stuff down and made a page to put it on should any of it get shareable. Now it has a couple of essays and some fanfic, both finished and WIP series.

I am working on a Bookshop which is full of books reflecting my rather eclectic reading habits, and a few themes just for fun.

I got published in Fortean Times issue 167!
This is extremely cool, even though they did extensively edit my article. And change the spin. And loose the point. I do not believe Immortals exist in real life, but I do collect forteana that could be seen as being related to Immortals. The folder is rather basic at the moment, a collection of text files with no index page, but it is an ongoing project. I was told that the 3000 word version of my article, the one I agreed they could print, would be up on the FT website. Anyone that can find it, please tell me where it is. And the original 7500 word version is up here in my forteana section now. Although it really did need editing in some respects, it does have the most data in it, so I'm still vaguely proud of it. There are also some pictures I did for the article, reworked into annoying animated gifs. So cool.

The original point of the article, which got a little lost in the writing and a lot lost in the editing, was three fold. Firstly to collect all the 'evidence' for Immortals in one place. Since the forteana mailing list regularly gets posts headed 'There Can Be Only One', and BR mentioned in passing he vaguely meant to collect it all in one place sometime, I thought there might be some interest in it. My raw data runs to many Mb of news articles, mostly from sources other than FT like Ananova or Yahoo news. Plus I did a bit of research about lightning, when where what it strikes and what the medical effects can be. Put together the picture can get vaguely scary ;-) Secondly it was meant to take an idea that no one believes and 'prove' it out of the news clippings. Thus gently poking fun at / questioning conspiracy theory thinking. Basically its playing connect the dots with infinite unnumbered dots so you can get any picture you like with enough lateral thinking. It was also meant to be amusing.

I should do an index page for the fortean stuff. Eventually.
