By Public Transit: The Massacusetts Bay Transportation Authority (the "MBTA" or "T") operates Boston's subway and bus system. It is the oldest and one of the best subway systems in the United States. Take the Green Line or the Orange Line to Haymarket Station.
When you surface, look round and find a tall white steeple--the steeple of Christ Church (a.k.a. The Old North Church). Walk towards the steeple, under the Expressway, and soon you'll find yourself walking down Salem Street.
