Atsugi-Zama Toastmasters Club was founded in 1970 at the Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, Kanagawa, Japan, as a chapter of Toastmasters International. However, We are now located in sunny Sagamihara, a little distance from base. We have members both from as far away Canada or as close as Machida, which give our club a great amount of diversity. Of course the club is all about learning about public speaking in English in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our meetings include impromptu speeches, prepared speeches, oral evaluations of speeches, toasts, jokes, etc., all in English. Well-organized time-proven manuals help us prepare and deliver our speeches. Remember, we are a speech club, not an English class --- even non-native English speakers can enjoy informative, entertaining, and inspiring meetings. Members and guests may stay after the meeting and enjoy talking over dinner. Anyone 18 years of age or older can join our club after he/she visits three times.
