Some people are just nice guys, and nothing, not even Hollywood, can change it."
--- Richard Arlen

Hello, and welcome to the Gary Cooper home page.

Geocities has been kind enough (well, for a small annual fee) to provide me with the hard drive space to dedicate a series of pages to one of Hollywood's Golden Age legends, Gary Cooper. I was shocked to learn, when I did an Internet search one evening, that there were no web sites or pages devoted to Gary Cooper. He was, by far and way, my favorite actor, and I hope I have remedied this web deficit.

Of all the men who have appeared in motion pictures, none has come as close to personifying the American male as Cooper did. From the early days of his movie career when he was "a cowboy before lunch and an Injun in the afternoon," Coop progressed to where he was a star of sufficient magnitude to turn down the role of Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind.

This is his story in words and pictures.
